Caring for brass, silver, and set stones — the bench habits that keep a numbered piece aging well.
Every numbered piece is signed on the back and accompanied by a small card noting the metal composition. The notes below are general guidance; bespoke pieces with unusual stones are sent with their own care sheet.
I.
Brass
Brass will slowly develop a warm patina where it touches the skin — this is expected and, for most owners, desirable. If you prefer the original semi-matte finish, buff the piece gently with the supplied polishing cloth and a drop of mild soapy water, then dry it thoroughly. Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, chlorinated water, and household cleaning products. Remove brass rings before washing hands, cooking, or swimming.

Silver
Sterling silver oxidises slowly when unworn; the bench remedy is the same as for brass — a soft cloth, mild soap, no abrasive polishes. Store silver pieces in the linen pouch supplied with the order, ideally separated from other jewellery so stones cannot scratch the metal. Do not store in the bathroom; humidity accelerates tarnishing. Pieces that have darkened with disuse will return to a bright finish with one or two careful polishings.
III.
Set Stones
Semi-precious stones — agate, onyx, smoky quartz, carnelian — are set in low-tension bezels and should be treated as part of the metalwork, not as separate ornaments. Avoid knocks against hard surfaces, sudden temperature changes, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear. If a bezel begins to loosen or a stone shows a chip, do not attempt a repair at home; send the piece back to the atelier under the lifetime guarantee described below.

What is covered
All structural repairs, re-polishing, stone re-setting, and patina restoration on numbered pieces, for as long as the piece is in your keeping. The cost of bench time and materials is borne by the atelier; you cover insured return shipping only.

Lead time
Standard repairs are completed within 4–6 weeks of the piece arriving at the atelier. Bridal and bespoke pieces are prioritised; an expedited 10-day bench service is available on request for an additional materials fee.

How to initiate
Write to [email protected] with the piece name, edition number (found on the back of every piece), and a short description of the issue. The atelier replies within two working days with a return address and a tracking number.
